Like many book lovers, I’m constantly dismayed by how many unread books I have languishing on my shelf, even as I add new titles to my stash. And so, a while ago, I devised a strategy for managing my book buying: I select seven books I own and am most eager to read, and I promise to only reward myself with a new book or two after I’ve read all seven.
Full disclosure, this strategy has had a 100% failure rate. But as far as failures go, this is one I’m happy to roll with. Here are the current seven books on my shelf that I’m most eager to delve into:
- David Mogo Godhunter by Suyi Davies Okungbowa
Abaddon Books, 2019
Fiction | Fantasy/Speculative | Adult - Fruit of the Drunken Tree by Ingrid Rojas Contreras
Anchor Books, 2018
Fiction | Adult - Edinburgh by Alexander Chee
Mariner, 2001
Fiction | Adult - Temporary People by Deepak Unnikrishnan
Restless Books, 2017
Fiction/Hybrid | Adult - Pet by Akwaeke Emezi
Make Me a World, 2019
Fiction | Fantasy | Young Adult - Cape May by Chip Cheek
